Militia payroll, 1861.

Various Civil War militia unit payroll records include unit name ; each soldier's name, payroll number, rank, service term, monthly pay rate, clothing and subsistence payments, total payment amount, and sometimes, payroll certification date by the Adjutant General. Payroll includes the following militia units : Companies A-C, Chicago Zouaves; Chicago Light Infantry; Chicago Light Artillery; Hopkins' Light Artillery; Marshall-Clark County Light Artillery; Peoria Light Artillery; Washington Light Artillery; Lockport Artillery; Union Cadets; Barker's Dragoons; Hoffman's Dragoons; Lincoln Rifles; and Company K, Ninth Congressional District Regiment.
